My background:
My name is Barry Gardner and I am the former head of engineering at one of the U.K.s largest radio production companies,
after 7 years of employment I have decided to move into the arena of freelance sound engineering and training. I have been
using the above applications on a daily basis and have mixed in excess of 500 radio programmes for the BBC radio networks
during this period.I was trained in the art of radio engineering by an ex BBC radio studio manager.
Training has been a significant part of my role as the head of engineering at a large independent radio production company
in London, 1 on 1 dedicated tuition is what I offer. I like to find out the most important aspects of the application that
you need to comprehend before we start. For example if you are a radio producer, broadcast assistant, media college student
I can tailor the training to some degree depending on your experience, possibly some leaning towards speech or music editing
may be appropriate in the event that you already have some familiarity within an editing application. Otherwise I will run
through all operations and idiosyncrasies of the application you wish to learn. I have always found context to be very important
in training and training without hands on opportunity can become very anti engaging for a student.Practical usage must be
incorporated and major concepts that are explained will be followed up with practical use and further guidance if need be.
This training gives valuable hands on experience and direct personal tuition and guidance.
There is more time for hands on training during the 2 days training course.
The training is based in either Barkingside (Central Line
East), or in Southend On Sea which is a a 55min direct journey(no train changes)from Liverpool Street.
Barkingside tube is the closest underground station which is on the Central line. I offer free pick up to drive the few
minutes if you are travelling by train.
A regular and reliable direct train service runs between either Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria or Fenchurch Street
to Southend central. Cheap day return currently costs £12.30.

Pre training advice :
It is adviseable to understand digital audio basics before
commencing your workstation training. If you search for "digital audio basics" you should find many returns
that will be helpful. The more you understand digital audio basics before your specific workstation training, the more time
that can be spent on the actual application you wish to learn.
This link will get you started.
